Volunteers

Volunteers

The emergency services community runs on volunteers. There are many types of groups that one can volunteer at.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross provides assistance following single-family dwelling fires, floods, wide-spread power outages and other disasters. They need more volunteers to ensure they can provide timely assistance. Join them and make a difference in the community! Click HERE to volunteer. In Warren, Washington and Saratoga counties, Red Cross Disaster Program Manager Josh Moskowitz is available to answer questions or concerns regarding volunteering and to provide assistance if you have any difficulties with the application process. They look forward to working with you to protect and support the community.

Sky Warn

The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many Americans. To obtain critical weather information, NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, established SKYWARN with partner organizations. SKYWARN is a volunteer program with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
