The Warren County Board of Supervisors offers its deepest condolences to the loved ones of Louis "Lou" Tessier, former Lake George Supervisor and Warren County Board of Supervisors Chairman, who died at age 93 this week after becoming ill at his home in Lake George.
Supervisor Tessier served as Lake George Supervisor from 1983 through 2009. He was Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors from 1996 to 2000, after he spent five years as county budget officer. He also served as a court attendant in Warren County Court, worked for the Warren County Board of Elections and operated Four Seasons Motel in Lake George for a number of years.
Supervisor Tessier was dedicated to protection of Lake George, and was deeply involved in efforts to promote the area through tourism initiatives. He also was a driving force in Warren County’s support of SUNY Adirondack, then known as Adirondack Community College.
Supervisor Tessier was particularly dedicated to oversight of Warren County Airport, and in September 2021, Warren County named the airport entrance road “Lou Tessier Way” in his honor.
“Lou was deeply committed to Lake George and Warren County, and spent nearly 30 years in public service working to improve and promote our county and region. He was a champion for Warren County Airport, SUNY Adirondack and numerous other facilities and projects that make Warren County the great place to live that it is. He will be deeply missed, and we offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends in this time of loss,” said Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty, Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors.
Supervisor Tessier will be honored with a moment of silence at the May 5th Board of Supervisors meeting.
