New Warren County Sheriff program can be used to report concerns, violations
WARREN COUNTY, NY – Those who use Warren County’s roadways can now report traffic complaints via a secure website through a new program being used by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Glens Falls Police called “Safe Pace.”
Developed in conjunction with the Warren County Traffic Safety Board and Warren County Planning Department, the police agencies have begun using this new online portal to allow those who have concerns about traffic conditions anywhere in Warren County to report them remotely. Those who use the site will also be able to see the locations where prior reports have been made.
Residents can use Safe Pace to report things like speeding, illegal use of a handheld device or disobeying a traffic control device along with other Vehicle & Traffic Law violations. Emergencies, such as suspected impaired driving, should still be reported via a call to 911.
Information that is compiled regarding traffic signals, crosswalks and road design concerns will be shared with Adirondack/Glens Falls Transportation Council.
“Users of Safe Pace will have access to a short fillable form to notify both agencies of traffic issues that they may be experiencing in their neighborhoods,” said Reagan Kelley, Coordinator of the Warren County Traffic Safety Board. “This information will go directly to the appropriate law enforcement agency for action.“
The new website is part of an enhancement of traffic safety measures being undertaken by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office also recently purchased two new portable video messaging boards that will feature approaching vehicle speeds to raise awareness on roads where complaints are received.
“Our goal is to keep those who use our roads as safe as possible, and giving our residents another way to interact with law enforcement to report traffic safety issues will help us to that end,” said Warren County Undersheriff Terry Comeau. “We will continue to look for new ways to use technology to work with our residents and visitors to ensure the safety of pedestrians, motorists and all who share our roadways.”
The Safe Pace site can be found on the Warren County Sheriff’s Office website. Those with feedback or suggestions for the website can email terry.comeau@warrencountysheriffny.us.
