Our Public Health Educator staff is expanding its tick education program this year, and has scheduled events to give away a tick remover and informational packets to those who are interested. Our educators will also have information about bug repellents, how to use them, symptoms of tick-borne disease and more. Look for them at:
- Lake George Rec Trails, Transfer Road, Lake George – May 16th, 10 a.m. to noon
- Johnsburg Library, Main Street, North Creek -- May 18th, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Harris Preserve, Potash Road, Lake Luzerne – May 25th, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Chester Creek Trail, Route 9, Chestertown – May 30th, 10 a.m. to noon.
Stop by and say hello while getting a handy gadget to safely pull ticks off, while learning more about tick-borne illnesses as ticks become more active this time of year.
