Local hospitality and tourism workers are invited to enjoy a FREE night of fun at Six Flags Great Escape amusement park as thanks for their efforts this summer as Warren County’s Summer Workforce Celebration returns for 2024! Registration for this event is open through Sept. 6.

Six Flags and Warren County Department of Workforce Development have teamed up to offer a free night at the theme park, featuring select rides, snacks and awards, on Monday, September 9th as a thank you for the workers who serve as the backbone of our tourism industry. Nearly 400 workers have attended this event in the prior two years, and we are excited to see hundreds more this year!!

Employees in the industries of Hospitality, Tourism and Retail in Warren County are invited to attend the event, which will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration is required for those who want to attend, and registration can be done through this link. The registration deadline is Friday, September 6th.

In addition, employers and supervisors are encouraged to nominate their employees for work-related awards that will be given out in seven different categories, ranging from Excellence in Customer Service to Sales Extraordinaire. Full details on the awards and a nomination form for supervisors and employees can be found at this link.

Liza Ochsendorf, Director of Warren County Department of Workforce Development, said: “We’re grateful to Six Flags for the continued partnership in celebrating our local workforce. We know that the best way to retain quality employees is to make sure they feel recognized, appreciated, and valued for their efforts and skills.”

Rebecca Wood, Resort President of Six Flags Great Escape Theme Park and Lodge, said: “The amazing team members who show up day in and day out all summer are the engine of this community. Watching the guest experience shine through our hospitality workforce is special. Now in its third year, we are proud to partner with Warren County again for an evening of fun and recognition, showcasing the talent, hard work, and commitment of the folks who make a lasting impact on our guests.”

For the third straight year, this fun-filled celebration will again benefit a local charity. Workers attending the event may bring one guest for a $5 entry fee, and the proceeds from this fee will go to Family Service Association of Glens Falls, which provides services and support to local families in crisis.

Said Kim Sopczyk, Executive Director of Family Service Association: "Family Service Association is honored to be the recipient of this year's Warren County Hospitality Workforce Celebration event donations. We so appreciate the support we receive from generous community members, and celebrate with the hospitality, tourism, and retail employees on their important work that happens in this major employment sector. Well done!"

Make sure to sign up to enjoy some fun with your colleagues as a thank you for all you did during our busy summer season!
