Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty selected to chair Warren County Board of Supervisors
QUEENSBURY, NY – Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty was selected Thursday to chair the Warren County Board of Supervisors for 2022. Geraghty received a majority of the weighted votes of his colleagues on the Board of Supervisors at the board’s annual organization meeting.
Supervisor Geraghty will be serving a second stint as chairman, having also spent 4 years as chairman of the board between 2013 and 2016.
“I am honored that my colleagues have chosen me to lead our Board of Supervisors. We have a challenging year ahead of us, and it will take a strong spirit of cooperation among all of us on this board to ensure that our county government is functioning as well as it can in these uncertain times,” Geraghty said.
In addition to his time as chairman, Supervisor Geraghty previously served as Warren County Budget Officer for 6 years, and acting Warren County Administrator for 1-1/2 years between 2016 and 2018.
Supervisor Geraghty has been Warrensburg Town Supervisor since 2007. He was elected town supervisor after a career working for International Paper Co. in Corinth.
Supervisor Geraghty succeeds Queensbury at-Large Supervisor Rachel Seeber as chair of the board, and he thanked Supervisor Seeber for her service to the county during a difficult year.
State Supreme Court Justice Martin Auffredou, former Warren County Attorney, swore in the new chairman during the meeting.
The Board of Supervisors meets again on Friday, January 21.
