Household hazardous waste collections scheduled April 22, August 26


WARREN COUNTY, NY -- Warren County Department of Public Works has scheduled two household hazardous waste collection events for 2023, and registration has opened for Warren County residents who would like to get rid of hazardous materials such as cleaners, pesticides and other materials.

The first collection event is set for Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 at Warren County Department of Public Works, 4028 Main Street, Warrensburg.

The second is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at Queensbury Highway Department, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury.

Warren County residents will be able to safely dispose of materials such as antifreeze, pesticides, paints, household cleaners and fluorescent light bulbs at no cost.

The Warren County event collection staff can not accept gasoline, munitions, automotive oil, batteries, asbestos, pharmaceuticals, infectious waste or tires.

In addition, those wishing to dispose of latex and oil-based paints, primer and stains can do so through the PaintCare program at select retailers year-round. Find local sites here.

The Warren County collection events will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day.

Registration is required, and these dropoff events are open to Warren County residents only. Registration can be done online at, by mail or in person at Warren County DPW, 4028 Main Street, Warrensburg, N.Y., 12885, or by fax at 518-623-2772.
