Warren County held its first public meeting Tuesday, November 16th to discuss how to use $12.4 million in federal stimulus funds as the advisory committee set up to help the Warren County Board of Supervisors laid out a timetable and goals for making recommendations.
Johnsburg Supervisor Andrea Hogan, Chairwoman of the Warren County American Rescue Plan Act Advisory Committee, outlined the main categories that the U.S. Treasury has set for use of the funds, including response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, infrastructure improvements, assistance to impacted communities and organizations, compensation for essential workers and replacement of lost revenue.
No decisions have been made. Future meetings will include input from stakeholders from the community, Hogan noted. Recommendations to the Board of Supervisors are likely by June 2022.
“We are here to listen and we are here to distill,” Hogan explained. “We want to do it right, not just fast.”
