Warren County Department of Workforce Development has scheduled five summer job fairs and a career day at Warren County school districts this spring, and businesses that would like to be part of one or more of these events are asked to submit online interest forms to begin the registration process.

This will be the fifth straight year of local high school summer job fairs in Warren County, and these hiring events have placed hundreds of teen workers with dozens of local employers for the busy summer tourism season.

This year’s job fairs will be held:

  • March 13 -- Queensbury Middle School (8th graders only)
  • March 18 – Queensbury High School
  • March 26 – North Warren High School
  • March 27 -- Glens Falls High School
  • April 8 -- Lake George Jr-Sr. High (Career day only)
  • April 24 – Johnsburg High School

Business location and the number of positions that will be available for young people will be factors in determining which businesses are a good fit for these fairs, as they are primarily for local students aged 14-18 seeking work.

Businesses that are interested in the Queensbury and Glens Falls events should fill out the interest form here.

Businesses that are interested in the Johnsburg and North Warren job fairs should fill out the interest form here.

These job fairs will be attended by students from their respective schools. There is no charge for businesses or attendees.

Said Liza Ochsendorf, Warren County Director of Workforce Development: “We are excited about our annual school job fairs and to see them expanding into other districts in the northern part of the county. We want students everywhere aged 14 and up to know that there are local opportunities for them to learn some new skills, earn a paycheck, support their communities, and contribute to a thriving economy. If they start working between 14-17 years old, they will have so many more skills than their peers who don’t start until adulthood, and we have a better chance of keeping these young people local when they become adults. These business-to-student connections are critical for a sustainable and vibrant workforce. We are more competitive, relevant, and successful when people from every generation are in our workplaces. Young people have a lot to contribute if we give them the opportunity.”

All attending businesses are required to take part in a 30-minute virtual orientation to learn about what to expect at each fair and to ensure greater success at recruiting teens for their open positions.
