Annual surplus property auction set for October 19

More than 20 properties will be available for purchase when Warren County Real Property Tax Services Office holds its annual live public auction of tax-foreclosed real estate on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Warren County Courthouse in Queensbury.

Among the 22 parcels that were on the auction list as of this week are several single family homes, two commercial properties, a seasonal cottage with views of Loon Lake and numerous vacant lots, all of which are being foreclosed upon for non-payment of property taxes. This is an in-person auction only, with no online bidding.

Registration for prospective auction bidders will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the auction is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on October 19. Warren County Courthouse is located at the Warren County Municipal Center complex at 1340 State Route 9 in Queensbury.

Lexie Delurey, Warren County Director of Real Property Tax Services Office, said: "Warren County Real Property Tax Services suggests that those who find a property they are interested in on the auction website please do their research so they know what they are buying.”

Auction proceeds will be handled in accordance with recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings related to tax foreclosure auctions.
