The Warren County Board of Supervisors held a ceremony Friday, January 19, 2024 to thank the emergency responders, volunteers and community organizations who responded to aid the victims of the January 5, 2024 bus crash on the Adirondack Northway. It was standing room only in the Board of Supervisors room as representatives of these agencies, organizations and businesses around the region turned out for the event.
Kevin Geraghty, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and Warren County Administrator John Taflan recognized the 31 organizations and individuals who provided medical care and assistance to passengers after the bus from Montreal rolled over near Exit 22 of the highway in the Town of Lake George. Volunteers, public and private sector entities banded together to ensure that all were well cared for.
Administrator Taflan stated: "As you look around the room at the first responders represented in this room today, you should recognize that these are the same people, many of whom are volunteers, who will respond to the citizens of Warren County with the same commitment and dedication. We should all be thankful for their service.
The Warren County Board of Supervisors offers its thanks to all of those who responded to this incident, folks who are the backbone of our county, folks who routinely put others before themselves day after day. You are seen, and you are appreciated."
