UPDATE ON MIDDLETON BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Warren County continues to work toward replacement of the Middleton Bridge over the Schroon River, and updated information has been made available regarding the proposed use of New York Forest Preserve land for the bridge.
Two parcels of Forest Preserve land amounting to 0.06 acres along the Schroon River are proposed for use for the western approach to the new bridge, which would be located approximately 2.5 miles north of the County Route 10 and County Route 11 intersection.
These parcels will be replaced in the Forest Preserve by an equivalent amount of land set aside in the newly created Adirondack Land Bank, which will result in no net loss of Forest Preserve land from the bridge project.
This transaction is described in a videotaped presentation which is available at this link on the Warren County YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/AFkxt6pGyxs.
Anyone who would like to provide comment on the proposed project can send comments via e-mail to publicinfo@warrencountydpw.com by Thursday March 31, 2022.
A starting date for construction has not yet been set. The old bridge will be removed from its location.
