Up Yonda Farm Maple Festival set for March 12 and March 19
BOLTON, NY -- You know it’s spring when the maple trees are tapped and the sap is flowing! To celebrate the arrival of maple season, Warren County’s Up Yonda Farm on Route 9N in Bolton is excited to announce the return of its annual Maple Festival on March 12 and 19.
During Maple Festival, Up Yonda Naturalists will lead tours throughout the day, going through different stations to explain the history and science of maple sugaring and ending with a taste of fresh maple syrup!
This program is fun for all ages and great for families! Each interactive tour is about an hour long, and moves from station to station learning how to tap a tree, how to boil sap and make syrup and how sugaring has changed over time. Participants will get to try some things along the way and smell the maple sap as it boils down. Of course, everyone will get a chance to try some maple syrup too!
Tours run every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 and Saturday, March 19. Reservations may be made online at www.upyondafarm.com. Tickets are $5/person for ages 5 and up and $1 for children 4 and under. Programs can be run for Scouts and school groups on additional days in March. Those who are interested should contact Up Yonda Farm staff at 518-644-9767 for more information.
