Warren County Emergency Services to offer free training

OES

Warren County Office of Emergency Services is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer a free disaster preparedness training event for members of the public.

The training, known as “Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to Do When Disaster Strikes,” will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Warren County Human Services Building on the Warren County Municipal Center Campus, 1340 Route 9, Queensbury.

The instruction will include a comprehensive overview on how to prepare for natural and man-made disasters as well as how to respond to and recover from them.

“It is important to know how to respond when an emergency or disaster occurs, and this training will provide the information our residents need to prepare beforehand and then react during an emergency situation,” explained Ann Marie Mason, Warren County Director of Emergency Services.

This New York State Citizens Preparedness Corps training session, overseen by a Red Cross instructor, will cover topics that include:

  • Fire safety
  • Severe weather preparedness
  • Basic first aid
  • Evacuation plans
  • Emergency supply kits
  • Pet safety
  • Communication plans
