Warren County creates online public survey for Comprehensive Plan, Outdoor Recreation Plan

2040survey

Warren County has launched an online survey to gather public input as part of the county’s process to create a Comprehensive Plan, and for use in development of a new Outdoor Recreation Economy Plan.

The survey is open to residents and non-residents of Warren County, and covers a range of topics focusing on quality of life, economy, housing and outdoor recreation.

“Information gathered through the online survey will be vital to shaping the Comprehensive Plan’s and Outdoor Recreation Economy Plan’s priorities and issues, and will help guide Warren County decision-making for years to come,” said Ethan Gaddy, Warren County Planner. “We ask that those who live in Warren County or who visit our beautiful county log on to let us know their thoughts about current and future issues.”

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, and can be accessed here on the Comprehensive Plan website.

The Comprehensive Plan, dubbed Warren County 2040, will create a roadmap for Warren County to continue to be an attractive community with a high quality of life by establishing a vision, goals, and strategies for the county’s future.

Warren County Department of Planning & Community Development, which is guiding the plan process, is working with a Project Advisory Group that includes residents from around the county. The Project Advisory Group’s work will be reported to the Board of Supervisors’ Economic Growth and Development Committee.

The process to create the Comprehensive Plan began over the summer, and will include public meetings and other public engagement in the coming months.

The Warren County 2040 website is the best avenue to stay up to date on the Comprehensive Plan’s progress, findings, and schedule of public events. County leaders will also be providing regular updates on the progress to complete the plan through the county's social media accounts and e-mail list.

The Outdoor Recreation Economy Plan is an effort to develop a countywide blueprint to maximize use of recreational opportunities, including identifying underutilized assets in order to grow this important industry in Warren County. Warren County Department of Planning & Community Development is overseeing that project.
