Congratulations are in order for the all-volunteer committee that put together the 2023 Adirondack Balloon Festival, the 50th anniversary of this amazing event held each year at Warren County Airport/Floyd Bennett Memorial Airfield. Nearly 100 balloonists came to the region as the committee staged its biggest event in honor of this major milestone! Beautiful weather helped foster launches Friday and Saturday.
The festival was supported by dozens of Warren County employees, many of them volunteering their time for tasks such as directing traffic, cooking meals, setting up lights, manning first responder stations, answering questions and more as tens of thousands of people descended on the town of Queensbury to enjoy the beautiful hot-air balloons. Warren County DPW, Airport, Board of Supervisors, Buildings and Grounds, Sheriff's Office, Office of Emergency Services, Tourism Department, Administrator's Office and Purchasing Department were among the agencies who had folks on site Friday through Sunday. Thank you to all who made this another event to be proud of!
