Warren County schedules additional Citizens Preparedness Corps training
Free program helps equip residents to prepare for emergencies
Warren County Office of Emergency Services has organized a second “Citizen Preparedness Corps” training session for later this summer after a training scheduled for next month filled quickly.
Warren County will host an additional session through the New York Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program on Thursday, August 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office training room, 1400 Route 9, Queensbury, NY.
This training through New York Citizen Preparedness Training Program will provide attendees the knowledge and tools to prepare for emergencies and disasters, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. New York State emergency management personnel will serve as course instructors.
Participants will learn how to properly prepare for any disaster, including the development of a family emergency plan and how best to stock up on emergency supplies.
Said Ann Marie Mason, Warren County Director of Emergency Services: “We were glad to see the community interest in our first training, and wanted to make sure everyone who wants this important information can take part in one of these sessions. This informative program will cover how to develop a family emergency plan, what emergency supplies should be acquired prior to a disaster and numerous other important details to make sure Warren County residents can respond well when disasters occur.”
Each family that attends will receive a free emergency preparedness kit in a backpack, which will be ready to be used at a moment’s notice.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required through this link.
Thank you to our partners with New York State and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for making this training possible!
