Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty was selected Wednesday, January 4, 2023 to chair the Warren County Board of Supervisors in 2023, his second consecutive year as chair of the board. Geraghty received a majority of the weighted votes of his colleagues on the Board of Supervisors at the board’s annual organization meeting.

“I am honored that my colleagues have again selected me to chair our Board of Supervisors,” Geraghty said. “I am proud of what we were able to accomplish in 2022, with a balanced budget, millions of dollars in stimulus funding distributed in our community and revenues that show our local economy remains strong. I believe Warren County is in good shape and we have a lot of good things ahead of us.”

Chairman Geraghty was nominated on Wednesday by Lake Luzerne Town Supervisor Gene Merlino. This is Chairman Geraghty’s second stint as chair of the board, as he also spent 4 years as chair between 2013 and 2016.

In addition to his time as chairman, Supervisor Geraghty previously served as Warren County Budget Officer for 6 years, and acting Warren County Administrator for 1-1/2 years between 2016 and 2018.

Supervisor Geraghty has been Warrensburg Town Supervisor since 2007. He was elected town supervisor after a career working in management at the former International Paper Co. plant in Corinth.

State Supreme Court Justice Martin Auffredou, former Warren County Attorney, administered the oath of office to Chairman Geraghty during Wednesday’s meeting.

Geraghty plans a state of the county address at the Board of Supervisors’ next meeting, on Friday, January 20, 2023. The board’s meetings at Warren County Municipal Center are open to the public, and also livestreamed and video archived here on the Warren County YouTube page.
