Queensbury Brush Policy
The recent experience of “IRENE” passing through the community has left in her wake a great deal of debris. This includes brush, trees and other vegetation downed or uprooted during the storm.
The outdoor burning of these materials is strictly prohibited in the Department of Environmental Conservation regulation Part 215, and also in the Town of Queensbury Local Law 61.
This type of burning creates a hazardous condition and in most cases an unwanted disturbance of the air quality in the surrounding area.
All materials of this nature should be gathered and stored on your property and await further instruction from the municipality, for disposal opportunities.
All complaints or questions regarding open burning in the Town of Queensbury, shall be directed to the Fire Marshal’s office at 761-8206, or you can email the Fire Marshall.
