New Internet Initiative - Historical Records Infodex!
Since 2005, the Warren County Clerk's Office has been engaged in a significant records initiative to computerize and provide internet access to the public record. As you may already know, deeds (1971+), mortgages (1980+), and other filed documents including consolidated liens and business names are now available in electronic format both in the office and on the web via www.nylandrecords.com. This group represents our most active/current records.
In 2008, we began a second initiative focused on digitizing our original hand-written index books. We selected Info Quick Solutions and their user-friendly Infodex software for this project. Our goal was three-fold:
- Preserve and protect original handwritten index books utilizing a new format (there had been no other back-up!)
- Facilitate research by linking documents to the electronic index books... 377,256 + pages so far!
- Provide the information to the public 24/7 via our own internet webpage.
We are very pleased to offer this pilot project to the public at no fee. Special thanks to our Warren County IT Department for their expertise and assistance! We so enjoy working with you!
